Montignac/Lascaux/Ile de Re June 15th

We were woken early by the local council emptying the bins, about 6am; the downside of aires. But it did get the Missus moving.

We went in to Montignac to see the local market, it being market day, and gorged on cherries at 3.50 euros a kilo, and other tasty stuff. 

At midday we visited the amazing Lascaux 2 which is a reconstruction of the Lascaux caves, painted some 17,000 years ago by Picasso's ancestors, and found by chance by a dog called Robot in 1940.

Then a long drive West and North to arrive at the Ile de Re, an Island close to La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast, in the evening.
