Today we travelled from Melksham to New Alresford, near Winchester, to stay with Nia's brother Paul, and sister in law Nell. We stopped to walk the dogs and admire the henges…Stonehenge and Woodhenge, on Salisbury Plain. Built by the ancient Britons circa 2500 BC, Stonehenge is well known, Woodhenge less so…it is a collection of concentric ovals of concrete posts(so must have been built a bit later than Stonehenge), with their long axes aligned to the rising Sun on Midsummers day. The dogs and Nia preferred Woodhenge; there were fewer tourists and they could run around barking and dig for ancient bones (they didn't find any).
Colin remains one step ahead of me in the diet battle. We had just arrived at Paul and Nells house and were chatting to them when we heard loud squawking and hissing noises from the garden. Investigation revealed Paul's cat Charlie leaving at high speed for the next county, and Colin half way through Charlie's tea……he is a remarkably fast eater.

We would have loved to see aunty Nia running around barking and digging for a bone.
